The Lebel Model 1886 rifle also known as the "Fusil Mle 1886 M93", is a bolt-action rifle that has been used by the French Army. This rifle was a solidly built weapon with a reputation for reliability in adverse environments including those of trench warfare. The Lebel was the basic weapon for french infantry troops during the first world war. While advanced for its time, it became outdated way faster than any of the other rifles of other European militaries. This was partly due to bullets having to be loaded into the Lebel individually instead of using stripper clips.
